Major Data Center in Texas and New York supports Z/Os and OS/390, midrange systems/servers, with 20 terabytes of DASD and more than 500,000 tapes (Virtual Tape Storage ;VTS), which will support all systems.
These multi-platform, multi-environment data centers are backed by the Support Center that provides customer assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Operating systems maintained in these environments include Z/OS, OS/390, DEC VAX, Microsoft Windows, and UNIX (AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, etc.) in the mid-range environment.

We supports Hewlett Packard, IBM, Sun, and Compaq Systems. Mainframe environment support includes IBM and Amdahl. The staff manages data residing on EMC, HP, IBM VTS, Sun, and Compaq Storage Systems. In the area of support software, the Atos Origin staff is experienced using BGS Best/1, HP OpenView, MeasureWare, Veritas, Maestro, Control M, EMC Data Manager, Connect Direct, HP OmniBack, and IBM ADSM to name a few. For monitoring software, Atos Origin utilizes Tivoli, CA UniCenter TNG, NetView/6000, Bindview, Avanti NCAgent, Compaq Insight Manager, and Envive.

The data center in Texas is a state-of-the-art facility with 90,000 square feet of space that was designed and constructed to be a secure and reliable platform for computing and communications systems. Additional space provides offices for the staff. The data center serves customers in North America and around the world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The facility is home to approximately 300 professionals, but nearly 2,000 operational, technical, and professional personnel support North American customers. The data center electrical power is backed up by batteries and dual diesel generators that will keep the computer room powered for five days on one tank of fuel if necessary. Redundant air-conditioning units keep the facility cool. The top priority of the Facilities Team is “No negative customer impact due to a facilities failure.” multi-platform, multi-environment data centers are supported by a Customer Service Center that provides customer assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Appropriate power, security, and environmental systems provide secure, reliable facilities suitable for the support of large-scale corporate computing.
